History/Overview
The Sonata Hybrid takes Hyundai’s stylish family sedan and bolts in a gas-electric powertrain to add excellent fuel economy to the car’s list of attributes.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
The Sonata Hybrid’s sole change for 2023 is the elimination of last year’s solar roof, which is replaced by a more conventional panoramic sunroof.
Available Trims
Hyundai offers the Sonata Hybrid in a single Ultimate trim level. Power is from a 2.0L four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Standard Features
Inside, the Sonata Hybrid comes with leather upholstery, power-adjustable/heated/ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated rear seats. Also included is dual-zone A/C, a 12-speaker stereo, digital gauges, an auto-dimming mirror, 10.25-inch infotainment with navigation, a head-up display, wireless phone charging, and ambient lighting. Outside, you get passive keyless entry, auto on/off LED headlights, LED taillights, and rain-sensing wipers.
The Sonata Hybrid’s safety kit includes rear parking collision avoidance, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane following/keeping assist, and lane departure warning. You’ll also benefit from remote park assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic collision mitigation, safe exit warning, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, rear occupant alert, highway driving assist, and surround/blind view monitors.
Fuel Economy
Hyundai’s fuel consumption estimates for the Sonata Hybrid are 5.3/4.6 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
If you’ve got the Sonata Hybrid on your mind, you might also want to consider the Toyota Camry Hybrid (which comes in a wider range of configurations), and the Honda Accord Hybrid.
